I am obsessed with our backyard. If you follow me on instagram stories then you know. Sorry not sorry.
When we bought this house 3 years ago the backyard was a swath of freshly laid green sod. Because we were in the middle of the worst drought in recent memory we knew it had to go. We enjoyed rolling around on it for a few months until it began to brown and then we ripped it all out.
We enlisted our friend Adam of Artizen School, laid out a new design and planted what seemed to me at the time; a very sparse amount of succulents and drought tolerant plants. What a difference a few years makes! Everything has doubled or tripled in size. We still have a lot to do, and are currently working on a few projects, but that doesn't stop us from enjoying it immensely.
One of my favorite parts of the yard is our very own super bloom. To think that all i had to do was toss handfuls of wildflower seeds out into the yard before it rained. I wish I had such foresight in everything I do! The landscape changes daily depending on what's blooming, going from sunny yellows and oranges one day to happy pinks and reds the next.
Here's a few pictures of where we are at right this moment:
You can see I still need to finish the path. We tore down a concrete wall and are repurposing it. My goal is to finish it by Easter
We waiting 2+ years for these Fan Aloe to bloom and it was worth it!
So come on over! We'll drink a bottle of Rose and marvel at the beauty of nature.
Catch ya later!
I love the beautiful scenery that is composed with different species of flowers. The pictures look beautiful and eye catching.I will absolutely follow you on your instagram page for more,
